THE PROJECT
Established almost twenty years ago by Patricia Green, Rahab Ministries offers a future and a hope to the bar girls of Patpong and Nana. Rahab is situated in Soi Patpong, an infamous internationally known red-light area of Bangkok. Our program reaches out to the bar girls through the Rahab Beauty Salon, bar visitation to both Nana and Patpong, “Hair-Net” our Internet Café, and we offer English classes. For as little as $175 a month, an ex bar girl can receive full support and retraining while they rebuild their lives. The majority of the women working in these two red light areas of Bangkok come from poor families in the rural areas of North East Thailand. Poverty, abandonment by husbands, poor education and family debt force these women into prostitution.
THE NEED
All women leaving the bars need a supported environment to receive emotional healing, build self-esteem, develop social skills and learn new values for wholesome living. Any donations to Rahab Ministries will ensure these women are offered a future and a hope.
