The Region
Gondola is a small town and the administrative centre for the Gondola district. It is about 16 kms from Chimoio, the provincial capital of the Manica province in central Mozambique, and is situated along the famous Beira Corridor. The last census in 2004 showed 184 567 house-holds in the region, most of which struggle daily to support themselves and the community.
The Project
Mid 2007, Liveson & Nothando Ndebele and their team established a centre in the Gondola district that provides multimedia services to the local community and supports the ministries that are working in the region.
The Gondola Multi-Media Centre is the only one in the region which has had considerations for the Christian community and yet is non discriminatory in its services towards communities of other religious persuasions. The centre offers numerous services to the general public and also to the Christian community for the support of its missions.
The centre is also supportive of other World Outreach ministry activities in the region such as the Prison project, and has the facilities in place to support weddings. The centre is considered the support base for many of the social activities that enhance the Gondola region
The Need
Future plans to purchase items and equipment that will support the activities of the centre are currently in place. These items and equipment range from laminators to photocopiers and computers. Receiving the funding for these will enable the World Outreach team in Gondola to continue to support the local community and local ministries
